Delaware Garden Wedding
A Romantic Delaware Garden Wedding
Where do I even start with these two? When the bride called after she received their full wedding album she said "Their were so many moments you captured that I didn't even remember, I was too busy enjoying my day!" From a photographer's point of view, this is the perfect statement for so many reasons. One, as you'll hear me say so often it should probably be my new tagline, my top priority in shooting each event is to document all the emotions and all the looks that go unnoticed. More on that later. Two, the top way to look stunning in your wedding photos is to truly and thoroughly enjoy yourself. There is a noticeable glow from the couples who relax and take a moment relish being newlyweds.
They are of course completely in love and perfect together. To hear their friends talk about them during their toasts was such a delight. There's a huge joke about how much they play board games together, and the maid of honor actually got teary-eyed talking about how she holds them as a role model for great relationships.
A friend of the family opened their home to the couple, and they held the wedding in the most romantic and elegant setting possible. Their wedding opened with a traditional Chinese ceremony which was easily the highlight of her family's day. She had many relatives come in from out of the country, many of whom didn't speak English. To have a ceremony from their culture was so very important. Her father can be seen smiling ear to ear in every photo. First, there was the "stealing" of the bride. The groom had to pass a series of quizzes and tasks posed by the bride's protective bridesmaids. He then carried her to a traditional Chinese tea ceremony where they served tea to her parents.
The rest of their day was spent surrounded by loving family and friends. The bride's mother walked her down the aisle, she then finished her entrance with two very reluctant flower girls. The two exchanged vows overlooking the water and had a sunset stroll back to their reception. The reception was planned so flawlessly that the couple really had time to celebrate as newlyweds. From a couple's perspective, they can look back at a fun, stress-free day. From the photographer's perspective, it allows me to capture those loving candid moments. The ones of the groom looking at his bride with adoration, the ones of them laughing together at the toasts, and the secluded nighttime walk back up from quiet time by the pool.
Thank you to yet another couple for trusting me with their Big Day! Enjoy your photos as much as I enjoyed working on it for you!
