We had an absolutely sweet and simple Mother's Day this year, and like any good photographer, I spent the day taking pictures my son. We started with no plans, but found ourselves having bagels and coffee at the outdoor cafe, a walk at Sherwood Gardens, and patio dining at a new favorite, Birroteca. (This time we didn't forget our take out boxes!)
The restaurant had the most perfect backdrop, and my toddler, surprisingly, had not started screaming yet. I couldn't resist this scene. I'm working on a few new lighting techniques, and the light was really catching his eyes perfectly, so I just kept shooting, waiting for the perfect shot. This is fascinating to me as his mother, to see all the different expressions that come across his face in such a short amount of time.
I can only hope that I can work this same magic for other parents to view their children in a unique and timeless way.
