Yes, Baby Oliver was the reason for this shoot, but the real story here is the family.
Grandparents are always proud and excited when a little one arrives. It's all the fun of the cuddles, with none of the mess of diapers, crying, late nights...well, you know. These grandparents seemed extra special. There was something about the way Grandma looks at that baby, it is just pure awe. She can't believe her eyes that this perfect little baby is really here. And then there's grandpa. Grandpas everywhere, take note of this man. It's not uncommon to find the men in the family waiting until the grandbabies grow into grandkids. Then they can really shine with their fun and adventures. This grandpa is already there. You can see he is not hanging back. He too has an expression of complete disbelief that he is lucky enough to be little Oliver's grandpa.
His parents are, of course, equally ecstatic. Mom can't stop kissing him, and dad looks on with pride. He's busy helping gather all the necessities, and helping mom where he can. She's somehow glowing despite what you know has been a week of interrupted sleep and barely finished meals.
Gus deserves a shout out too. This chocolate lab has just been replaced, and he's taking it like a pro. This gentle big guy with soft eyes is going to be a welcome playmate soon. In this photo, he patiently sat still while auntie stood behind me promising him a treat if he'd wait a little while longer.
Congratulations to Sarah & Ryan on their perfect little Oliver! I hope I get to see you all again for all his milestones! Good luck in these first few months - you can do it!
