Wedding Photography FAQs

Baltimore wedding photographerBaltimore wedding photographer, Baltimore wedding photography, affordable Baltimore wedding photographer How do we know you're the right photographer for us?
I'm glad you asked! This is often the first thing I discuss when talking with couples about their vision for their wedding. Obviously you like the style of my photography, you've made it this far in your research. First, take a look through the galleries. Are you in love with many of the photos you see? Do you say "WOW?" Could you envision having an album similar to those for your own wedding? Second, give me a call. Make sure my personality suits you. Your wedding photographer will be with you throughout the day, often for more time than even your soon-to-be spouse.

What is the process for booking you?
Contact me! Call or text and I'll answer or get back to you quickly. Email me if you prefer, I usually reply within a few hours. We'll then talk on the phone briefly and set up a time to meet. Our first meeting is the time to go over whatever details you have planned so far and discuss your overall vision for your big day. It's also an excellent time to talk through your wedding timeline. After that, you'll get to reserve your date by sending your deposit.

Why do I need an engagement session?
Often couples don't have a lot of experience in front of a camera. You want to feel at ease on your wedding day, and this can be used as an opportunity to relax, for us to get to know each other, and experience what it's like to work with me. One of my portrait clients told his camera-shy bride "I'll be a pro at this before the wedding, I'll help you out." Plus, you need photos for your save-the-dates. And really, who doesn't want more photos to share and frame!

Do you shoot same-sex/Jewish/Indian/gay/religious/non-religious/etc. weddings?
Yes, of course! It's likely I'm familiar with the type of wedding you're planning. Our consultation is the time to go over any traditions or details that you want me to know about.

Do you work with another photographer?
At this time I will be the one shooting your wedding. If you have a large event which I feel could benefit from having a second shooter then we can discuss further.

Can you have our photos ready when we get back from our honeymoon?
Oh my, no. I know how excited you are to see these! Do you know that I often browse through your photos that night because I'm also super excited to see how they turned out? I will get you a sneak peek blog within a few days, and depending on the size and complexity of your wedding I may send a more comprehensive sampling within a week or two so you can share with your family and friends. Your final complete gallery will be ready in 4 weeks.

How many photos will we get?
This depends on the size and scope of your wedding. I strongly feel that it's the quality of images that tell the story of your day, not the quantity. For that reason, I edit them down to the best of the best. A typical 8 hour wedding day can expect approximately 400-600 images.

Do you have an app?
Yes, of course! Download the client app here. It's an easy way to download your photo shoot to your phone and share with your friends and family.

Do we have rights to the photos?
Copyright and print release are different things. I retain the copyright to all images and may use them for my website, blog and any promotions. You receive a release to share and print your images as you wish, provided they are for personal use only.

Can we see all the photos you took?
Trust me, you don't want to see all of those. I edit to remove everything that is blurry, eyes closed, double chin or of you making a weird face. I also make an effort to send only my best work, and only images that actually tell the story of your love. The images that do make the cut are carefully edited, one-by-one, personally, by hand. They're minimally processed, but are detailed to show a timeless, true-to-life depiction of the moment.

How do I get the photos?
You'll have a password protected client gallery. I'll send you an access code and password. At that point you'll see your entire gallery, both print quality and web-ready images for social media. To download, you will "Select Photos," "Select All," and "Download." You also have the option of ordering prints through my professional print lab.

Great! How do we reserve our date?
You may contact me to check my availability. We'll have a short phone call and set up a longer in-person meeting to go over your wedding plans. When you're ready to book me, I'll email you a contract and you'll submit your deposit. Easy!
